Fraser is a Partner in our Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure team.

Fraser is recognised by the Law Society of Scotland as an Accredited Specialist in Construction Law (first Accredited in 2010). He holds a first-class Masters’ Degree (LLM) on the subject and did, for many years also then lecture on the LLM course on a variety of topics.

He is a ranked as ‘Recommended Lawyer’ for construction in both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

Fraser has specialised in the construction and engineering sector for over twenty-two years with a particular focus on dispute resolution and risk avoidance.

He has vast experience in working on high profile building and infrastructure projects across the UK for a mix of contractors, developers, insurers and construction professionals.

Prior to joining Beale & Co Fraser has worked at a number of international law firms.

Notable cases:

Successfully advising a main contractor in a series of five adjudications in relation to a main contract dispute arising from office refurbishment work to a Grade A listed building in central London.

Successfully pursuing claims at adjudication for a main contractor on the design and construction of a major hotel development in Southampton.

Acting for a Swedish company in the defence of a multi-party Court of Session litigation brought by a Scottish Port Authority in respect of alleged defects in the design and construction of new berthing facilities and an associated mediation that led to a successful settlement.

Acting for a main contractor and its professional indemnity insurer in the successful pursuit of an adjudication for damages arising from the defective works undertaken by a sub-contractor in relation to the installation of a glass reinforced concrete cladding system as part of the refurbishment of a Grade A office building in the centre of Glasgow.
